Devon based EMotive, creator of the world’s first zero-emission all-terrain heavy-duty commercial electric vehicle, has today announced a strategic manufacturing partnership with Australian vehicle manufacturer and distributor, AUSEV. By combining EMotive’s “Scarab” electric vehicle platform, an eco-challenger to the Mercedes Unimog, with AUSEV manufacturing experience, they aim to deliver cutting-edge electric heavy-duty off-road vehicles to Australia with exceptional performance and reduced emissions.
After last year smashing their £180,000 Crowdcube campaign funding target in just four days, EMotive raised over £235,000 to finish their prototype vehicle and push them towards live demonstrations to existing vehicle manufacturers and mass production under licence. Having now invested the funds raised in progressing the vehicle design and completed demonstrations to potential end customers and manufacturers from all over the world, the partnership with AUSEV is now set to be the first of many.
“We are delighted to partner with AUSEV, a company that shares our commitment to innovation and sustainability,” said Josh Roles, Partnerships Director at EMotive. “Together, we can leverage our respective strengths to develop cutting-edge electric heavy-duty off-road vehicles that will revolutionise the industry, promoting a greener and more efficient approach to heavy duty operations.”
Terry Mulcahy, Head of Future Business at AUSEV, said “This partnership aligns perfectly with our vision of delivering industry-leading heavy-duty electric vehicles. By incorporating EMotive’s advanced electric off-road vehicles into our product offering, we can provide our customers with efficient and environmentally friendly solutions that meet their demanding requirements. We look forward to the positive impact this partnership will have on heavy-duty industries such as mining.”
Dan Regan, Managing Director of EMotive, said “This partnership will further feed the growth of our business here in Devon, creating further jobs and working towards one of our core objectives of putting the Southwest on the map in the world of electric vehicle design and engineering.”
With manufacturing set to commence in 2025, the partnership between EMotive and AUSEV is a significant step forward in advancing the electric vehicle revolution within the heavy-duty off-road sector. By combining their technological expertise, industry knowledge, and shared commitment to sustainability, the companies are poised to create groundbreaking solutions that redefine the future of off-road electric vehicles in specialist industries that require heavy-duty vehicles.
